Bridge Diagnostics is proud to be offering SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) testing. Private health insurance plans are required to pay for such testing, without cost-sharing by enrollees, by the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) and Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), assuming the testing meets the requirements outlined by the Department of Labor (DOL), the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Department of the Treasury (collectively, the Departments).
The Guidance confirms that insurers must cover all FDA approved or EUA authorized COVID-19 testing – including at-home COVID-19 tests, multiple tests, tests for active COVID-19 infections and tests for COVID-19 antibodies – determined to be medically appropriate for the individual by a health care provider “who is licensed (or otherwise authorized) under applicable law, who is acting within the scope of the provider’s license (or authorization), and who is responsible for providing care to the patient.”
